History of Tihar

Just after the rainy season, in order to welcome the autumn, the festival begin with dancing by the fire camp. Then this festival transformed into agrucultural festival. But in the later part of time, the importance of this festival gradually increased due to its relation with "killing of hell's evil by godess of power" of Hindus, "Coronation of King Rama" of Vaishnavs. "Englightment of Buddha" of Buddhist, "Nirvana" of Jains, and "Mha: puja" of Newars.
