Vipassana: Sight for self-obvservation

Vipassana: A meditation technique discovered by Gautama the buddha, some 2500 years ago which is spreaded all over again in the whole world by Sri Sataya Narayan Goenka. This meditation was kept in its pure form in one of the monastry in Burma by Sayagi Uba Khin by Teacher-Student system (Guru-Sisya Parampara). Sri. S. N. Goenka inherited this knowledge from his teacher Sayagi Uba Khin.
This meditation is now popularized all over the world now, it is run for 11 days in the closed camp abstaining the meditator from Non-veg food, stealing, sex, violence, and even we are not allowed to talk for first 10 days. At 11th day only we are allowed to talk. This state of silence during this time is termed as Arya Maun (noble silence). First 4 days, the Aanapana is practiced where we are asked to obvserve the breathe, no game of breathe at all obvserving the breath and sensation aroused by it; sounds simple yeah just sounds simple, 13 hours in Padhmasan (folded and crossed legs with erect back) really need lots of patience and deligence. Then we can feel the sensation aroused in our body with calm and controlled min with can be mastered in 3rd or 4th day if we meditater as per intructions of our teacher.
By the 5th day, Adhisthan (Strong determination) is practiced, in which for 1 hour we are not allowed to move, change our folded legs nor we can open our eyes, just sit and practice the meditation with really the strong determination that too for three sitting each day. The gallery filled with more than 100 people, but no movement, and that's the moment i first experience the sound of silence. when i opened my eye once (which is not allowed) and take a look arouind the gallery it feels me like I am in the school where the real religion is taught i.e, humans trying to be a superhuman. After 10 days, the silence is broken, the whole environment is filled with laughter and explosion of voices that had been repressed for 10 short days. Prior to breaking the silence, the lesson of Maitraya was given during which we just comfort ourselves in relaxed mood and spread the love, peace and harmoney with our thought to all the living beings from micobes to mammoth around the world.
The knowledge and feelings i gathered in that camp was one heaven of experience which cannot be expressed. I then know how to meditate, read the horoscope and change the fate.

MAY ALL BEINGS BE HAPPY!!!!!

Bhawatu Sabba Mangalam!!
