voices from Karnali

Karnali:
Tired by the waiting for development too long and harassed by political slogan and campaign. After the half-century of the development project had been launched and it is just now that Jumla is linked with motor roadways, that’s too in not reliable and not coal-tarred. Gifted by variety of natural resources, the indigenous Karnali people want to rely on their belongings rather than foreign aid and help. The vegetation that is not favor the growth of rice and other cereals but promises a lot for horticulture, vegetables, and animal husbandry. More of the medicinal plants are yet to be studied in Karnali. Most of the project organization didn’t understand the reality of Karnali and more of the project didn’t know the true needs of this society and cannot find the solution for these problems. By advertising haves not of Karnali, the dimensions and diagrams constructed by the countrymen do not impress the people of Karnali. The meetings and seminars of 5-starred hotels in cities do not speak for their problem; they cannot even assess the needs, sensations, and solutions. Media provided them a stage, lots of thoughts came, plans and policies were made and not knowing the priorities, they are all in vain. No matter whosoever rules, monarchy or democracy, directorship or dictatorship, none of them can commence development without the education. It is impossible to have development without education. For the region like Karnali, transportation, tourism, and education is the three major pillar of development. The people now have immense desire for their rights and development that should be directed in the positive direction towards new constructions and creations. The programs should be launched and certain budget should be divided for the solution of the particular problems. The school still producing shepherd who enjoy vacation when the Pasteur is shifted from “Lek” to “Beshi”. School remain closed for more than eight months of year, and children enjoy collecting Yarchagumba some making more money than their parents. Who is going to graze in whose land? The voices like these from Sa: Karnali flows like water in Karnali.
